Robert "Bo" Ewald
Chief Executive Officer
Bo Ewald joins SGI as CEO with over 25 years of relevant industry experience in the high performance computing markets. He is a seasoned industry veteran with a successful track record as a CEO.
Prior to SGI, Bo was Chairman and CEO of Linux Networx, Inc. Earlier, Bo served as President of Human Resource Solutions of Ceridian Corporation; CEO of Scale Eight, Inc, a high performance network-clustered storage company; and President and CEO of E-Stamp. Bo also served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Silicon Graphics, Inc. (SGI), and President and Chief Operating Officer of Cray Research, Inc. Bo began his management career at Los Alamos National Laboratory as the head of its Computing and Communications Division. He is involved in various industry organizations and was appointed to the President's Information Technology Advisory Committee from 1997 to 2001.
Bo earned Master’s degrees in Civil Engineering and Applied Mathematics from the University of Colorado and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nevada.

Jim Brinker
Vice President of US Sales
Jim Brinker is Vice President of US Sales for SGI. He is responsible for the sales of all products and services to all markets within the United States, including Defense, Government Intelligence, Commercial, Education, Research, and Enterprise. Prior to this position, Jim has held jobs running the Media and Entertainment group focusing on Hollywood and Digital Content Management in North America and Vice President of the Eastern Region for all markets with a primary focus on the Government business.
Prior to joining SGI in 2003, Jim has held Senior Management positions at AT&T, Sony Corporation, Scientific Atlanta/Cisco, and a Media Start-up Company. With over 25 years experience in the High Technology sector, he has served in a variety of tactical and strategic roles both in the field and at headquarters including direct sales, channel sales, sales management, marketing, sales training, and strategic planning.
Jim received his B.A. in Business Administration and Finance from the University of Florida.

Doug Britt
Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales
Doug Britt is Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales for SGI. Doug is responsible for driving the company’s bookings and revenue growth for SGI solutions across all of its product and services on a worldwide basis. In this role, Doug is responsible for the direct and indirect sales organizations, sales engineering and sales operations. He is responsible for overseeing the execution of the SGI go to market strategy.
Doug brings to SGI a track record for driving bookings and revenue and creating, integrating and executing strategies for sales, marketing and product development. He most recently was executive vice president of sales and marketing at Solectron, where he reported directly to the CEO and had full accountability for profit and loss, marketing, product marketing, account management, global program management, and corporate business development. While in this role, Solectron achieved more than $12 billion of bookings and revenue annually. Doug was responsible for growing business globally, building customer relationships and developing and overseeing the company's go to market strategies. Previously, as senior vice president of corporate accounts, he was in charge of Solectron's 10 largest customer accounts and was responsible for increasing global sales and managing customer P&Ls and strengthening customer relationships.
Before joining Solectron in 2000, Doug spent 12 years working in executive management roles with 3 value added resellers: Future Electronics Corporation, Sterling Electronics and Passive Technology Sales, Inc. Doug studied international business at the University of London and holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from California State University, Chico.

Tim Butchart
Vice President of Worldwide Storage and Data Management Sales
Tim Butchart is vice president of Worldwide Storage and Data Management Sales for SGI. In this role, Tim is responsible for building an organization chartered to focus on selling our storage and data management technology into core and new markets worldwide.
Tim brings a broad and experienced background to his role. He was formerly General Manager for SGI's Northern Europe Business. Prior to SGI, he spent time with Amdahl and Fujitsu in a variety of sales leadership positions, most recently as vice president EMEA, for Fujitsu Softek, developing their software business.
Tim has played a vital role in leading the introduction and revenue growth of a range of software, consulting and hardware solutions to the European marketplace, including large-scale UNIX applications, enterprise application development, out sourced services and systems integration.

Eng Lim Goh, Ph.D.
Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Eng Lim Goh has been with SGI for 18 years, becoming one of the chief scientists in 1998 and chief technology officer in 2001. His tenure includes work in computer graphics algorithms and high-performance computing (HPC) architectures.
He is a proponent of next-generation computer systems designed specifically for customer applications performance. To this, he advocates computational density and energy efficiency when integrating commodity components; and where appropriate, a balanced multi-paradigm approach, across a globally addressable memory, to architectural design.
In computer graphics, Dr. Goh's current research interest is in the relationships between human visual perception and visual computing. He has been awarded three U.S. patents in this field. He is also leading a small research effort to investigate application-transparent, massively parallel rendering.
In 2005, the IDG publication, InfoWorld, named Dr. Goh one of World's 25 most influential CTOs. That same year, he was also included in the HPCwire list of "15 People to Watch." In 2007, Dr. Goh was named in "Champions 2.0" for the bio-IT industry by BioIT World magazine, and received the HPC Community Recognition Award from HPCwire.
Before joining SGI, Dr. Goh worked for Intergraph Systems, Schlumberger Wireline Netherlands, and Shell Research U.K. A Shell Cambridge University Scholar, he completed his Ph.D. research and dissertation on parallel architectures and computer graphics. He also holds a first-class honors degree in mechanical engineering from Birmingham University, U.K.

Nancy Hanna
Vice President, Human Resources
Nancy Hanna joins SGI as Vice President of Human Resources, with over 25 years of HR leadership experience, primarily in the technology sector, and ranging from large global organizations to start-ups. She most recently was the Senior Vice President for the Human Resource Solutions organization, Ceridian. Nancy was VP of HR in two education software firms, PLATO Learning and Sagebrush, and previously, spent several years with Cray Research and SGI, from the mid eighties through 1998.
Nancy serves on the Board of Directors of Royal Neighbors of America, the first organization to sell life insurance to women, and chairs the Compensation Committee. She is also a member of the board of Human Resource Executive Forum, and is a two-term chairperson and member of the Board of Cabrini Partnership, an organization committed to ending homelessness.
Nancy has a B.A. in French from Hamline University, and an M.A. in Human Development from St. Mary's.

Dick Harkness
Vice President, Operations
As Vice President of Operations, Dick Harkness leads SGI’s worldwide supply chain, manufacturing, and order fulfillment functions, from the company’s single point of manufacture in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Since joining SGI in 1991, Dick has held a variety of progressive responsibilities for SGI in materials and operations management. During this time, Dick was responsible for consolidating and streamlining SGI’s worldwide operational and materials footprint, including the management of several corporate divestitures.
Prior to joining SGI, Dick had several positions in manufacturing and supply chain management with Unisys and Convergent Technologies. Dick received his B.S. in Business Management from San Jose State University.

Shahin Khan
Vice President, Strategy and Development
Shahin Khan is Vice President of Strategy and Development. Shahin has served on advisory boards of growth companies in areas ranging from data movement, compliance and risk management, web 2.0, processors, interconnects, and systems. He was previously chief marketing officer of Electronics for Imaging and Azul Systems, builder of 24-core and 48-core microprocessors, associated systems, and Java virtual machine technologies.
Shahin is a graduate of Cornell University, with Bachelors and Masters Degrees in engineering, and he is the author of several peer-reviewed papers on parallel processing and large scale systems. His article on "kilo core" computing, published in The Register in 2005, was a provocative view of large-scale, multi-core systems. His recent areas of interest have been a deep analysis of the IT market and quantitative models to determine the impact of IT infrastructure on business productivity and sustainability, which include approaches to treating total cost of ownership (TCO), return on investment (ROI), service level agreements (SLA), customer acquisition, market segmentation, and value chains.

Kathy Lanterman
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Kathy Lanterman, is Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of SGI, where she is responsible for managing the company's global finance organization, including finance, operations, treasury, information technology, and real estate. Prior to her appointment as CFO, she served as Vice President and Corporate Controller. In that role Kathy led financial accounting, control, planning, operations, the Company's year one SOX 404 compliance, and the successful implementation of a global financial system.
Prior to joining SGI in 2001, Kathy held project management and direct positions with several high-technology companies in Silicon Valley and Europe. With over 20 years of experience, she has served in a variety of financial roles, including assistant controller, assistant treasurer and director of financial planning and analysis. During that time she has also led the successful implementation of a number of financial information technology and automation projects.
Kathy received her B.A. in Human Biology from Stanford University and her M.B.A. from Santa Clara University.

Dave Parry
Senior Vice President and Product General Manager
Dave Parry, senior vice president and Product General Manager, joined SGI in 1992. He is responsible for all engineering, business management and marketing for SGI products. Most recently, Dave served as senior vice president and general manager for the systems and platform group with responsibility for server system and the development of underlying platform elements used in SGI visualization and high-performance data management product lines. In this role, Dave led hardware engineering for MIPS microprocessors, MIPS processor-based systems, and Intel® Itanium® 2 processor-based systems, including the SGI® Origin® servers and the SGI® Altix® family of servers and superclusters.
Prior to joining SGI, Dave worked for MIPS Computer Systems, where he worked on the MIPS® R6000 microprocessor and associated RC6380 server system. After SGI's acquisition of MIPS, he worked as the engineering lead on the Power Indigo2 PMT module and in various engineering management roles for the development of the SGI® Origin 200®, SGI® Origin® 2000, and Gigabyte System Network (GSN) programs.
Dave came to MIPS from Hewlett-Packard where he worked on high-end processor and server system design.
He holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Robert Pette
Vice President, Global Professional Services
Robert Pette is Vice President of Global Professional Services for SGI where he is responsible for managing the company’s consulting solutions line of business. In this role, Bob has developed consulting practices in four major areas: High-Performance Technical Computing, Data Management, High-Performance Enterprise and Visualization. Bob is a 19 year veteran of SGI and has held positions in Systems Engineering, Application and Solutions Development, Customer Benchmarking, Customer Services and Services and Sales Operations.
Bob received his B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Tech and his B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Tampa.

Irene Qualters
Senior Vice President of Software
Irene Qualters is Senior Vice President of Software. An industry veteran with a successful track record that spans more than 20 years, Irene has led software design and development with leading systems, software and end-user organizations.
Irene is an established technologist and executive who rose through successive levels of leadership positions at Cray Research, where she was eventually named president of the company. She later moved to SGI, serving as senior vice president until leaving SGI in 1998. She then joined the end-user community as a visiting scientist at NASA/Goddard Flight Center.
Following NASA Goddard, Irene joined Merck & Co. as IT vice president for the pharmaceutical giant's global research labs. There she led the organization that provided IT and application services and support for the worldwide research community at Merck. Most recently, she led software engineering at AGEIA, a company that creates innovative hardware and software that applies breakthrough physics to the games industry.

Joan Roy
Senior Director, Marketing
Joan Roy is Senior Director, Marketing of SGI, where she is responsible for the company's global brand and corporate marketing initiatives. In that capacity, Joan is the champion of marketing programs that span the range of SGI products, solutions and services that help SGI customers solve their toughest problems. Prior to taking on this role in 2006, Joan held several positions at SGI during her 12-year tenure, including Director of Marketing Operations and Director of Planning and Procurement.
Joan earned her B.S. in Mathematics and Computational Sciences from Stanford University and her M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School.

Joop Ruijgrok
Vice President of Sales, EMEA
Joop Ruijgrok, joined SGI in January 2008 as VP of Sales EMEA. In this role, he is responsible for driving SGI business solutions to existing and new markets. With more than 20 years experience in the IT industry, Joop is a specialist in growing and developing teams across the EMEA region. Joop's success is based on his ability to develop a company's brand through all communications channels, his leadership skills, team building and his knowledge of business strategies that build serious revenue channels.
Prior to SGI, Ruijgrok worked for three years at Solectron as Senior Vice President EMEA where he doubled its annual revenue. Before that he was engaged in several startups in Information Technology. Previously he worked for Compaq for over 14 years. As VP Sales EMEA he grew the business impressively across the entire region.
Joop holds a Degree in Business Administration and a Batchelor of Arts in Dutch Law. He is married with three sons and lives in The Netherlands.

Alison Ryan
Vice President, Global Channel Sales
Alison Ryan is Vice President of SGI Global Channel Sales. She is responsible for SGI's business growth in partnership with worldwide channel partners, including value added resellers, distributors and OEM technology leaders. Prior to her role leading global channels, Alison served in a number of capacities, including SGI's head of Global Business Development, Federal Business Development, and Professional Services Solution Development.
Prior to SGI, Alison was recruited to lead sales for two start-up technology companies serving Latin America, Europe and Africa. With over 20 years of experience, Alison has served in a number of sales and business development roles working with leading technology providers.
Alison received her B.A. in International Relations from Pomona College, Claremont California. She is an affiliate board member for the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department for the University of Arizona and has been named VARBusiness 2007 "Channel Executives You Need to Know."

Bill Trestrail
Vice President, SGI Asia Pacific
Bill Trestrail was recently appointed Vice President, of SGI Asia Pacific. As such he is responsible for all operations of SGI in this region. Previously, Bill was the Area General Manager of Silicon Graphics Pty Ltd (SGI) Australia, New Zealand and Southern ASEAN, following the 4 years Bill had been the General Manager for Australia and New Zealand. Bill joined SGI in 1995 as ACT State Manager and since then has held various positions including, National Defence Business Unit Manager and National Sales Manager - Corporate & Government.
Prior to joining SGI Bill held a number of sales and management roles with Seer Technologies, Informix Software and Australian Consolidated Technologies in Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane.
Bill graduated from Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Business Accountancy in 1986 and in 1988 completed his qualifications through the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Before joining the computer industry Bill, a Chartered Accountant, worked for KPMG Peats and KMG Hungerfords for 6 years in general practice and IT consulting.

Barry Weinert
Vice President and General Counsel
Barry J. Weinert is vice president and general counsel of SGI. He is responsible for its global legal organization and its public policy activities. Barry previously served as Associate General Counsel. He also serves as SGI's corporate secretary.
Prior to joining SGI in 1995, Barry spent 15 years as a corporate and civil lawyer in private practice.
He earned a bachelor of science from the University of California, Berkeley and a J.D. degree from the University of Denver, College of Law.
