SGI and FedCentric Technologies LLC Announce Memory-Centric Database (MCDB) Accelerator Solution

MCDB Accelerator Outperforms Disk-Based Systems by as Much as 10 Times, While Consuming Less Power and Less Space

Powered by SGI® Altix® 4700 or SGI® Altix® 450 servers, the FedCentric MCDB Accelerator solution uses in-memory database technology to provide significant improvement in response time and throughput over traditional disk-based systems.

1 Results based on a comparison of audited and published Transaction Processing Council benchmark (TPC-C) tests for disk-based systems and a similar but unaudited transaction processing benchmark designed by FedCentric Technologies for an MCDB. The disk-based systems achieve high performance by striping data across large numbers of spinning disks.
