Oyster Hotel Reviews Selects SGI® for Ability to Rapidly Scale and Achieve Low Cost of Ownership

Newly-Launched Oyster.com Deploys SGI's Rackable™ 2U Half-Depth Servers to Support Growing User Base, Journalist Reviews and More Than One Hundred Thousand Photos

FREMONT, Calif. — July 15, 2009 — SGI® (NASDAQ: SGI) today announced that Oyster Hotel Reviews (www.oyster.com) has selected SGI's Rackable™ C2000 half-depth servers to best support the company's rapidly growing user traffic and the data processing demands required to maintain its extensive inventory of hotel photographs and reviews.

Oyster Hotel Reviews is the first and only company dedicated to publishing authoritative hotel reviews written by skilled journalists to bring clarity to travelers. With the Website's expanding coverage of major global cities - including newly-added New York City and its more than 30,000 new photos and 100 hotel reviews — Oyster Hotel Reviews required a powerful, flexible and easily-scalable server solution, which it found in SGI's Rackable half-depth rackmount Eco-Logical™ servers. Rackable C2000 servers provide superior performance and processing power, high density and extreme energy efficiency to keep data center power consumption low and minimize the growing start-up's costs.

Oyster Hotel Reviews staff is comprised of journalists with experience spanning The New York Times, Men's Journal, Money Magazine, The Village Voice and Conde Nast Traveler, among other publications. The journalists are dispatched to stay anonymously in hotels while they systematically evaluate the properties with hundreds of photos and objective reviews in cities including New York and Miami, and countries including Aruba, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic. Las Vegas will be added this summer with additional cities to follow.

"With the Rackable C2000 server series, Oyster Hotel Reviews was able to utilize SGI's compelling build-to-order model to support our specific hardware needs as a thriving start-up," said Mike Cirello, director of engineering at Oyster Hotel Reviews. "As a young company, we have limited data center space but need to scale quickly and efficiently. SGI's half-depth servers give us superior server density with minimal energy consumption and rock-solid stability, which translates to lower overall data center costs."

"SGI has worked closely with Oyster Hotel Reviews during its intense period of initial growth to meet its specific I/O requirements and optimize its data center infrastructure with Rackable C2000 servers," said Tony Carrozza, senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing at SGI. "As this exciting Website continues to grow, Oyster Hotel Reviews can continue to leverage the benefits of SGI's Eco-Logical servers to help bolster its bottom line with best-in-class density and low power consumption."
