SGI Opens New German Subsidiary as an SGI Center of Excellence
SGI Center to streamline implementation of projects, reduce costs for customers
MILPITAS, CA and HEIDELBERG, GERMANY — Aug. 18, 2014 — SGI (NASDAQ: SGI), the trusted leader in high performance computing, has opened a new subsidiary called SGI GmbH that will operate as an SGI Center of Excellence in Heidelberg, Germany as part of a strategic move to more closely support SAP® solution-based initiatives.
The Center, which will open by October 31, 2014 and will be led by SGI Chief Operating Officer, Cassio Conceicao, from the SGI corporate headquarters in Milpitas, CA will support key operations that further the the strategic partnership between SGI and SAP SE (NYSE: SAP). Technical engineering resources will help keep SGI appliances operating SAP solutions up and running 24/7, year round. The Center will also focus on SAP-related business and application expertise to support customers globally, designing new processes and optimizing current operations in the SAP environment.
The new subsidiary will take responsibility for all go-to-market activities around SAP solutions in Germany and Central Europe and will act as the technical hub for all SGI subsidiaries in developing solutions built on them.

As an existing SAP global technology partner, SGI is developing an in-memory appliance, which consolidates applications and data analytics for businesses at extreme scale, without complexity. The new in-memory appliance was previewed at the SAPPHIRE® NOW conference in June this year.
