SGI to Showcase New 16-Socket In-Memory Server at SAPPHIRE® NOW

SGI and EMC Collaborate to Deliver SAP-Certified Storage Solution for SGI UV Appliance, Enabling Real-Time Operations at Extreme Scale for Large Enterprises

MILPITAS, CA — May 5, 2015 — SGI (NASDAQ: SGI), a global leader in high-performance solutions for compute, data analytics and data management and an SAP global technology partner, today announced its latest innovations at the annual SAPPHIRE® NOW conference, being held May 5-7 in Orlando, Fla. SGI plans to demonstrate in booth #168 its recently certified under controlled availability 12- and 16-socket SGI UV for SAP HANA® platform, with up to 9 and 12 terabytes (TB) respectively.

SGI and EMC Further Expand Customer Reach with Enterprise Storage Solutions for SAP HANA Tailored Data Center Integration
Working with EMC, SGI has jointly tested, validated and now offer an external storage solution for its SGI UV appliance for SAP HANA deploying the SAP HANA tailored data center integration approach. Using this approach, customers can leverage their existing hardware and infrastructure components with EMC® enterprise storage platforms for their SAP HANA-based environments, providing further choice for organizations.

SGI Demos at SAPPHIRE NOW

  • Demonstration with Bluefin Solutions Inc. - A real-time demonstration showcasing sales and financial transactions on the SGI UV 32-socket appliance. The demonstration can be viewed in the SGI booth #168 or during the theater presentation, "Answer the 100 TB Database Challenge by Supersizing SAP HANA," being held on Tuesday, May 5 at 3 p.m. EST in Theater 1.
  • Demonstration with SAP National Security Services and the SAP Co-Innovation Lab - A multi-intelligent demonstration of the SGI UV 16-socket appliance in the SGI booth #168.

SGI UV for SAP HANA and the SGI UV 300H with 4-, 8-, 12- and 16-sockets are now available for purchase from SGI and is ready for shipment. It is deployed by SGI professional services and SAP offers licensing for SAP HANA and first-line support for the solution.
