RACKABLE SYSTEMS, INC. ANNOUNCES 13 NEW SERVERS FEATURING THE LATEST INTEL 1600 MHZ BUS TECHNOLOGY

New Servers Deliver High Performance with 1600 Front Side Bus and 800 Speed Memory

FREMONT, Calif., January 31, 2008 – Rackable Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: RACK), a leading provider of servers and storage products for large-scale data centers, today announced the availability of thirteen new high-performance servers based on two new motherboard offerings featuring the new Intel® 5400 chipset.

Leveraging the E5462, E5472, X5472 or X5482 Intel Xeon 5000 series quad-core processors, these servers deliver extreme performance with high clock speeds and a 1600 MHz front side bus. Featuring sixteen memory slots compatible with the latest 800 MHz speed fully-buffered DIMMs, the memory performance of these servers is also exceptional.

These new Intel Xeon based servers are available on a range of 1U, 2U and 3U half-depth and standard-depth form factors:
  • C1001-L07: Half-depth 1U, one 3.5" or two 2.5" hot-swap hard drives, one PCI-E x16 expansion slot, up to 88 servers per cabinet density
  • C2000-T14: Half-depth 2U, internal 3.5" hard drives, two PCI-E expansion slots
  • C2002-T14: Half-depth 2U, two 3.5" hot-swap hard drives, two PCI-E expansion slots
  • C2004-L07: Half-depth 2U, four 3.5" hot-swap hard drives, one PCI-E x16 expansion slot
  • C3001-T14: Half-depth 3U, one 3.5" hot-swap hard drive, three PCI-E and two PCI-X expansion slots
  • S3006-T14: Half-depth 3U, six 3.5" hot-swap hard drives, two PCI-E and two PCI-X expansion slots
  • S3009-T14: Half-depth 3U, nine 3.5" hot-swap hard drives, two PCI-E and two PCI-X expansion slots
  • S3012-L07: Half-depth 3U, twelve 3.5" hot-swap hard drives, one PCI-E x16 expansion slot
  • C1104-L07: Standard-depth 1U, four 3.5" hot-swap hard drives, one PCI-E x16 expansion slot
  • C2104-T14: Standard-depth 2U, four 3.5" hot-swap hard drives, up to two PCI-E and two PCI-X expansion slots
  • S2108-T14: Standard-depth 2U, eight 3.5" hot-swap hard drives, up to two PCI-E and two PCI-X expansion slots
  • S3118-T14: Standard-depth 2U, eighteen 3.5" hot-swap hard drives, up to two PCI-E and two PCI-X expansion slots
  • Scale Out-L07: Scale Out chassis, two internal 3.5" hot-swap hard drives, one PCI-E x16 expansion slot
