SGI is committed to working with our developers to create joint revenue opportunities. The SGI Global Developer Program targets independent software vendors (ISVs), developers, system integrators (SIs), and consultants. By joining SGI Global Developer Program (PDF 691K), you will have access to resources for promoting your business and streamlining the process of providing your solutions on SGI platforms. The program provides technical information for developing and porting your application, access to an online porting system, discounts on SGI development systems, and opportunities for promoting your SGI-based solutions.
Membership Levels
- Developer Online
Offers Web-access to a variety of information sources and an ISV level of access to SGI Supportfolio. Also offers access to the SGI online developers' systems where developers can compile, run, and check compatibility of the software with the latest SGI hardware. This level of membership provides a fast route to solution certification for project teams that have experience on SGI platforms, or whose applications are well suited to the industry-standard Linux platform. This level is intended for companies that do not develop commercially available software or do not need application porting support. Please note that the online systems are not intended for performance evaluations and benchmark testing.
- Developer Plus
Offers the same benefits as the Developer Online program, plus SGI hardware purchase discounts, IRIX application development tools (compilers), and Developer Online Consulting (DOC). Developer Plus members are also entitled to discounted support services and discounted instructor-led training. Developer Plus membership is extended only to vendors of commercially-available applications that fulfill certain business requirements like revenue forecasts etc.
Getting Started
- Application
Decide which membership level best fits your needs and complete the appropriate online application. If you are applying for the Developer Online program, download and complete the membership Agreement and return it to SGI.
If you are applying for Developer Plus, complete the appropriate application. Your application will be reviewed and you may be contacted to provide additional information regarding business opportunities. If approved for Developer Plus, you will receive the Developer Plus Agreement to be signed and returned back to SGI.
This application step provides a profile of your company to SGI marketing executives, global account managers, and system engineers, allowing them to determine how your products can compliment the SGI product line and increase both of our companies' sales. When SGI receives your signed Agreement, your membership becomes active.
- Sign Up for Supportfolio access
Sign up for SGI Supportfolio to obtain access to literature, downloads and other useful information. The Developer Browse Area in SupportFolio is the one stop for technical information, webcast schedule and replays, news, events and resources only for the members of the Developer Program.
- Request access to the Developer Online system (optional)
If you are a member of the SGI Global Developer program, you can request access to Developer systems where you can port and check the compatibility of your software with SGI hardware. Details about these online systems, policies, and configurations are available at http://isv.sgi.com/.
- Get help with application porting
If you are a Developer Online member, you can search all available documents on Supportfolio to get answers to your questions. If you are a Developer Plus member, in addition to documents on Supportfolio you can open a Developer Online Consulting (DOC) case and receive advice from an SGI engineer.
- Leverage the SGI brand
Members are encouraged to take advantage of the SGI brand recognition by listing the SGI logo on your web site in a high traffic area with text and a link back to the SGI web site. The Content License Request Form is intended to be used to request images, text, or other marketing-related content from SGI for temporary use under a non-transferable, revocable limited use license. SGI logos are available for download from the Developer Browse Area in SupportFolio.
- Issue a press release announcing your product's availability on SGI
SGI supports your efforts to increase awareness of your product availability on the SGI platform. Please note that all SGI quotes must be approved by SGI prior to the release of your announcement.
- Notify SGI when your application has been ported and certified.
Please send an email and include application name, system certified on, developer name, and industry targeted.
