ICE Cube Optimized Servers

The C2208 ICE Cube-optimized server is our first server designed from scratch to maximize the density and efficiency of ICE Cube modular data center deployments. Ideal for large scale server deployments demanding extreme compute and storage density, each C2208 system contains four independent, two-way servers with up to 32 Intel® processor cores and eight hot-swap 3.5" hard drives in only 2U of industry standard rack space. This yields an extreme density level of up to 2,800 two way servers (22,400 cores) and 5.6PBs of internal storage (5600 3.5" drives) — all in a single 40’ ICE Cube.

When it comes to power and cooling, the C2208 truly stands out. The server's fan-less design combined with up to 96.5% DC power supply efficiency make this new density level practical, especially when factoring in the up to 80% reduction in cooling and air-handling power consumption made possible by the ICE Cube’s leading edge cooling architecture.
