High-Performance Cost Effective HBAs

SGI offers a wide variety of SAS and FC HBAs in configurations of PCIE host interfaces. Offering high-performance, the low cost HBAs accommodate both SAS and SATA needs. The Fibre Channel technology constructs the storage area networks (SANs), which are available in four and eight port options with internal and external connector configurations to support any applications. SGI's 4 Gbps FC HBAs are available in single, dual and quad-channel configurations.

With the deployment of fibre optic links, Fibre Channel networks allow users to establish a centralized pool of storage with cable lengths that span rooms, floors or inter-building separations between server and storage. Fibre Channel is an ideal connection technology choice when applications require low latency or high bandwidth such as video editing, backup/restore, and data mining. The PCIE-SAS-2P4X-Z card enables large-scale direct attach storage (DAS) arrays through eight external 3Gbps ports, driving up to 122 SAS and SATA devices. The host bus adapter drives external server storage RAID and non-RAID enclosures with unprecedented throughput by connecting an eight-lane 2.5 Gbps PCI Express bus with two external x4 SFF8088 miniSAS connectors.
