SGI Launches the InfiniteStorage 220—the Affordable, High Performing RAID Solution
On December 11, SGI announced the InfiniteStorage 220 as the latest addition to its family of storage solutions. The InfiniteStorage 220 enables data consolidation for organizations of any size, with fully integrated software and a flexible appliance-like design for simplified deployments. These systems feature a number of configuration choices that allow customers to choose the exact features that match their storage requirements. With Fibre Channel or Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) host connectivity, as well as a choice between SAS and SATA disk drives, the InfiniteStorage 220 can be introduced as a solution to a wide number of storage challenges.

SGI Unveils Altix XE1300 Ultra-Dense Cluster Built with New Quad Core Intel Xeon Processor 5300 Series
SGI has unveiled the new SGI® Altix® XE1300, based on the ultra-dense Altix XE310 that packs up to four Quad Core Intel® Xeon® processor 5300 series into a single chassis, for a total of 16 cores. Fiscal 2007 First Quarter Results
"SGI made significant progress this quarter executing our strategic growth initiatives, focusing on delivering 'innovation for results' for our customers, and rebuilding sales momentum," said Dennis McKenna, SGI's CEO. "Our momentum comes from refreshing 75% of our server and storage products, defining solutions that are re-engaging our traditional markets of engineering analysis, sciences, and government intelligence. In addition, we made significant progress on our operating results, which has had a positive impact on our liquidity position and overall financial stability. We were able to make this progress during the same period we worked through and completed our restructuring. This accomplishment is a tribute to the passion and focus of our SGI employees."
