Prism XLSGI announced the introduction of SGI Prism XL, a breakthrough new product for accelerator-based high performance computing (HPC). SGI Prism XL was purpose-built to fully leverage the scale and speed of accelerators, enabling customers to scale to tens of petaflops or large teraflop range. SGI also announced SGI® STIX™ architecture, the basic building block for SGI Prism XL. arrow right New SGI® Jolt™ Technology for Altix® UV Extends Shared Memory to Unprecedented Scale

Altix UV 1000SGI Jolt technology will deliver vast improvements in speed, performance and scalability to Altix UV, the world's fastest, most scalable supercomputer. Jolt for Altix UV systems is based on NUMAlink® interconnect technology. It enables Altix UV to scale to a 500-fold increase in memory capacity. Altix UV with Jolt now allows shared memory to scale-up to the processor and memory sizes of scale-out clusters. SGI Altix UV with the Jolt technology option reaches these levels of scalability while reducing latency by 1.4x and increasing bisection performance by 8x. "The world's fastest supercomputer, Altix UV, just got faster," said Mark J. Barrenechea, SGI CEO. "SGI Jolt technology creates unprecedented scale and performance, making Altix UV the ideal platform for the world's most demanding technology computing applications."
