Class Summary
This training class offers an overview and theory of operation for the Spectra T50, Spectra T120 and Spectra T950 tape libraries. Hands-on training is provided regarding configuration, operation, and instruction on replacement of all Customer Replaceable Unit (CRU) components. Upon completion of the course, attendees will be fully certified to perform field replacements for this tape library.

Specific topics covered include

• Product overview
• Library options, features and configuration settings
• Theory of operation of the Spectra Logic library and SCSI bus
• Power up and initialization sequence
• Front panel functionality
• Tape drives: LTO-3, LTO-4, SAIT, SDLT and AIT
• Upgrading code for all library components
• Bulk Load and Queued Unload features
• Removal and replacement of all CRU assemblies
• Power on and test diagnostics for complete functionality after CRU replacement
