What to Do When You Need Service
Obtaining service is easy: simply contact your local SGI Customer Support Center for person-to-person technical assistance. Customers with an active SGI service agreement receive priority over customers who do not have a service contract.
You may also report, track, and manage a service call using the SGI Customer Portal.
For fast, efficient service:
Please have your system serial number handy; you can find it on the bar code sticker adhered to the CPU of your system.
Be prepared to provide a full description of your problem, whether or not the problem can be replicated, what operating system you are running, and what steps you have already taken to identify the problem.
Note your case ID number when your case has been logged; the case ID number will come in handy when you need to obtain case status.

Renewing Your Service Contract
Avoid a lapse in support coverage by renewing your service contract before it expires. Remember there are many benefits to having a service
contract with SGI.
If you have already received a support quotation from SGI, simply follow these steps:
- Review your support quotation. You may continue with the same level of service or select a different support program depending on your current
needs. We also offer expanded coverage and accelerated on-site response time should our standard levels not meet your requirements.
Contact your support sales representative for any updates or changes and to advise them of your invoicing preference (monthly, quarterly,
annually, or prepaid).
Select the form of payment that's best for you--purchase order, check, MasterCard, or Visa.
Transferring a Service Contract
SGI warranties and support contracts may be moved from one country to another. Please see the Service Move section for more information.
